STAFF
Captain Bob Norris
Captain Bob Norris has worked as a general aviation instructor
and has flight experience in aircraft ranging from J-3s to DC-10s. He holds an Airline
Transport Pilot certificate, Aircraft Dispatcher, and a Flight Engineer certificate for
reciprocating and turbojet powered aircraft.
Bob graduated from Embry Riddle University with a degree in
Professional Aeronautics. He spent ten years as an Engineering Psychologist for Hughes
Aircraft Company with assignments in space systems, flight simulation and weapons systems
development.
Captain Norris recently retired from a major international
carrier after a full career as a flight instructor, pilot examiner, Airline Training Check
Airman, and flight manager. He has also participated in air carrier special
projects, including acting as interview Captain on the pilot hiring board.
Captain Norris is qualified on B-727, B-737, Caravelle, DC-6,
DC-7, DC-8, and DC-10 aircraft with captain qualifications on the DC-8, DC-10, B-737,
B-757, and 767. His last assignment with the airline was as a Training Captain on the
B-757 and B-767. |

Captain Jerry Blalock
Captain Blalock has a B.S. in Business Administration
with a major in Marketing from the University of California, Berkeley. He served eleven
years in the Air Force on active duty and, in 1976, retired from the Ready Reserves as a
Lieutenant Colonel, Command Pilot, Instructor Pilot (IP), and a Group Chief of
Standardization with 23 years of total service. His military aircraft experience ranged
from T-33, C-123, C119, to C130's.
Captain Blalock was hired by a major international carrier in
February, 1968. He served at their training center as a Training Check Airman (TCA). In
this capacity he trained upgrade crews in the B-767/757 aircraft and simulators, conducted
recurrent simulator checks ("PC's"), and was an FAA Designee Examiner. Captain
Blalock recently retired from the airline after a 27 year career, which included flight
experience in B-737, B-727, DC-8, DC-10, and B-767/757 aircraft.
Captain Blalock is an active member of the ACS Interview Staff,
and is a member of the CRM facility. |
| Captain Bert Botta
During Captain Botta's twenty six year flying career at
TWA he was a designated FAA check airman and line pilot instructor on the DC9/MD80. He
holds ATP ratings in the CE650, DC9/MD80, L1011 and DC3.
Captain Botta was the professional standards committee chairman
at TWA for the Airline Pilots Association during the TWA/Ozark merger in the late 1980's.
He retired early from TWA to pursue a career as a professional counselor and personal
leadership trainer. He has a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology and maintained a
private practice as a counselor and consultant to the airline industry.
One of Captain Botta's primary interests is combining his love
for flying with that of coaching people to their highest accomplishments. He is also a
free lance writer and focuses much of his writing on the growing need for better human
relations within the rapidly changing field of aviation. He returned to flying in 2000 and
is currently a first officer on the Citation VII for Executive Jet Aviation out of the SFO
gateway. He brings a current, fresh, involved perspective to his work as part of the
interview staff at ACS. |

Captain Ed Daley
Captain Daley is a veteran of more than 38 years in the
aerospace industry. He graduated from the Academy of Aeronautics in New York and joined a
major air carrier as an aircraft mechanic. He later entered pilot training in the USAF and
flew the F-105 on active duty. Upon release from service, he rejoined the airline as a
pilot. Captain Daley recently retired after a 35-year career, which included domestic and
international flight experience in aircraft ranging from the DC-6 to the B-747-400. For
the last eleven years of his career he served in management, with his last five years as
Chief Pilot.
Captain Daley is employed as an analyst at the NASA Aviation
Safety Reporting System, and also owns and operates OrbitPac Astronautics, a consulting
firm specializing in spaceflight operations, crew safety and aerospace education.
Captain Daley is senior member of the ACS Interview Staff and a
member of the CRM facility. |
| Captain Rich Wright
Captain Rich Wright is currently a Boeing 747-400
captain and line check pilot for Atlas Air. With over 14,000 hours and typed in the B-747,
B-727, CE-500, G-1159 and G-IV, he has extensive domestic and international flight
experience. Captain Wright is also a qualified Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic and has
served as a Flight Engineer on the Boeing 747/707/727 aircraft. He is an experienced
flight, ground and simulator instructor with numerous management assignments. After
graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Masters Degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University
he became a faculty member. While flying the line he has been teaching airline new hire
candidates how to pass the simulator check ride and coaching for the Captains Board
Interview. As a recent addition to ACS, he brings extensive real world current experience
to the staff. |

Captain Don Roszel
Captain Roszel is a 37 year veteran of a major
international carrier. He began his career as the Eastern Region Employment Manager,
overseeing recruitment of Pilots, Mechanics, Flight Attendants, and Public Contact
employees. He also managed the college recruitment program for technical and professional
candidates. In 1967, Don transferred to Flight Operations to begin a long career as a
pilot.
Over the next 31 years, he qualified on B-727, DC-8, DC-10,
B-757/767, and B-747-400 aircraft, flying domestic and international routes. In 1989, Don
was assigned as a Training Check Airman in the B-757/767 Fleet. Don also served in ALPA as
the Grievance Committee Chairman, representing line pilots on contract interpretation
issues. He later accepted an appointment as a Flight Manager in San Francisco, eventually
rising to the position of Chief Pilot. He retired from active airline service in 1998.
Captain Roszel holds degrees in Industrial & Labor Relations
from Cornell University and Golden Gate University, and a Law degree from the University
of California at Berkeley. He is an active member of the ACS Interview Staff. |
| Dee Norris - VP
Administration
Dee is in charge of the day-to-day operational/administration and
marketing aspects of Aviation Consulting Services. Her background as co-owner and
administrative assistant to one of the West Coast's largest FAA 141 flight schools gives
her the depth of experience and sensitivity to meet the demanding needs of ACS clients.
She gained her marketing experience as a consultant to the McDonald Corporation and is an
accomplished artist. As a Private Pilot she understands the technical aspects of the
operation, and as a world traveler she is comfortable in most environments.
